Job Summary

The Event Technician III will provide directing, score and/or video editing support to the EMPAC production teams for set-up, load in, execution and strike activities in the EMPAC building. http://rpijobs.rpi.edu/postings/5457

Minimum Qualifications

- Associates degree in relevant field
- 3 or more years of related experience

Preferred Qualifications

- Associates degree with emphasis on video technology or “arts and technology” preferred.
- An additional 3 years of professional experience in hardware and software systems for digital video with special emphasis in a minimum of any three of the following areas: (a) experimental arts, contemporary video productions, artistic installations, (b) live shows and events with live processing of video, © recording, processing and mastering of digital video, (d) broadcasting, (e) professional level video projection systems in standard and non-standard configurations.
- Working experience and appreciation of experimental and non-standardized approaches.

Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

- Requires good problem solving skills involving multiple variables in standard situations
- Requires excellent interpersonal, communication and organizational skills.
- Ability and knowledge of field specific operational functions
- Strong attention to detail

Other Position Requirements

Works in a stressful environment with multiple demands. Exposed to dust, machine noise, electrical and mechanical hazards, and various weather conditions. Physical effort consists of lifting, pulling or pushing weights up to 70 pounds, some work is performed in difficult positions, coordination and manual dexterity required along with visual, aural and mental attention.

Work requires irregular hours, weekends and holidays as needed.
